The Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center Scholarship Program is funded through generous donations from local organizations and are based on availability of funds.
Scholarships are reviewed and renewed in March and September. However, scholarships can be audited anytime throughout the year. A recipient will be asked to submit information to verify continued need. If a recipient’s income or marital status changes, he/she must report it immediately. Only one scholarship per child will be available.
Below are the basic guidelines, as determined by our Board of Directors and the donating organizations, which considers gross monthly income in relation to the total household size. If an individual qualifies and funds are available, he/she will receive a discount off their weekly tuition. An individual receiving consistent assistance through another program will not be eligible for the scholarship program.
1) Completed application 2) Proof of income (last 2 pay stubs or last Federal tax return)
A scholarship recipient’s tuition account must stay current to continue to receive a scholarship and to avoid dismissal from the Center. Tuition is due Friday prior to the week of service. If a recipient is delinquent with any payment 2 or more times, he/she may be dropped from the scholarship program.
False, incomplete, or misleading information on the application can be grounds for permanent dismissal from the scholarship program.
Scholarship recipients receiving funds will be required to volunteer at the center up to 15 hours every 6 months. Volunteer time will be reviewed in March and September during the scholarship renewal process. If an individual receives scholarship funding during a funding cycle, volunteer time will be prorated. If volunteer hours are not met, the scholarship will not be renewed. Please see the Business Manager for volunteer details.
