Meet Grayson.

This is Grayson. Grayson is a Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center alumni. In 2014, at age 2, when he was attending our program, he was diagnosed with leukemia. It was determined that it was not hereditary. Could this be linked to exposure to toxins in everyday products? As we were heading into the design of our new campus, the question created pause.

As it turns out, toxins are in a majority of the products we use every day and in building materials, and most chemicals on the market are not regulated. Armed with this information, it was time to design a first of its kind: a healthy campus. An environment focused on eliminating toxins and chemicals for the health of young children. As a result, the Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center is the first non-toxic, chemical-free early childhood campus in the nation.

As parents and educators, we want to absolute best for our children. A strong start. A bright future. We may never know what from Grayson’s environment caused his cancer, but we can be sure that we are doing our part to decrease the risk for hundreds of future children that walk through our doors, and are dedicated to teaching you what we know, so you too can do the same.

To start, we created the Growing Up Healthy Guide, a tool for you to learn about children’s environmental health, and simple changes that can be made at home to reduce exposure to toxins. We hope you use this information to make informed and healthy choices next time you need to buy a sippy cup, replace your carpet, or buy household cleaners.

Last week, we launched our NEW online shop, that has healthy toys, baby care and nursery items that we use in our building and classrooms. In the coming weeks and months, we will offer more product categories for On the Go, Feeding, Clothing and Accessories, and For the Home. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission, which supports our scholarship program. There is no additional cost to you.

Be sure to check out the shop, and think about getting a little healthy something for your kids, nieces and nephews, and friend’s kids this holiday season.
