Sliding Scale Tuition

Application

The Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center is an independent nonprofit school, where we put children first in everything we do. With us, children gain a strong foundation with qualified teaching staff, curriculum, and developmental assessments in a healthy, clean and safe environment. While we have a culture of excellence; the key to what we do lies in each team member’s compassion, integrity, commitment and responsibility.

We believe all children should have access to the highest quality of care and education; therefore, we offer a Sliding-Scale Tuition Program. This is funded through generous contributions from individuals, corporations and local organizations.

No family, even those paying maximum tuition, pays the full cost of high quality education and care. Tuition sustains our high quality teaching team and programming. Other costs such as those associated with the construction of our new facility are fully supported by separate philanthropic contributions.

Eligibility

Below are the gross annual income guidelines in relation to the total household size. If a family qualifies and funds are available, the family will receive a reduced tuition rate. How to Calculate Monthly Income

Each household member’s income is calculated based on their gross (before taxes) salary or gross regular hourly wage. We do not consider bonuses or overtime, as they may not be consistent sources of income. Each hourly wage is multiplied by 2080 hours (full-time working hours per year) which equals gross monthly employment income. Part-time gross wages (less than 40 hours/week) are calculated according to average hours worked on a weekly basis. Any additional income received by the household on a regular basis – such as child support, disability, or other government payments – must be added to the recipient’s wages to calculate total household gross income.
