Curriculum
Creative Curriculum
Nationally known for the forward-thinking, rigorously researched model, The Creative Curriculum has been trusted for decades by early childhood educators across the country. It focuses on providing responsive, intentional care while honoring and respecting the role that teachers and caregivers play in helping children develop secure attachments and gain confidence as learners.
Creative Curriculum incorporates the most current research and best practices to help children thrive and is based on 38 objectives for development and learning and supports children from birth through kindergarten. Creative Curriculum provides teachers with the content and tools needed to address the developmental domains of cognitive, social, emotional and physical development, as well as content learning in literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies and the arts.
Assessment Tool
In tandem with the curriculum, Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center uses a valid and reliable assessment tool called GOLD. This authentic, ongoing observational system for assessing children from birth through kindergarten. Teachers observe and collect facts, analyze the documentation they have collected and then respond by scaffolding children’s learning and planning instruction, evaluate each child’s progress quarterly, and summarize, plan for, and communicate children’s progress to families and others.
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled three times a year. Additionally, conferences may be scheduled any time throughout the year. At the conferences we summarize this information and share it with you at parent-teacher conferences.

“Thank you for everything. I know he’s [my son] currently only there two days a week, but I’ve seen such a huge change in him already with growth and independence. We feel so lucky to have him there!”
