to Thanksgiving Assistance

“My family has been very thankful for the times our HWCEC family blessed us with Thanksgiving dinner. It was such a relief to have everything we needed to make our Thanksgiving a plate full of amazing food!”

- A parent

Each year, Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center provides Thanksgiving meals to families in need of a little extra support during the holiday season. With the help of generous donors like YOU, we assemble a complete Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings and include staple items such as rice and flour.

This act of kindness alleviates some of the financial burden associated with the holidays, ensuring every HWCEC family can enjoy this special time of year.

We also engage our students in this process!

At HWCEC, everything is a learning opportunity. Through the Thanksgiving Assistance program, students learn the importance of giving. Each classroom collects donations for a specific item, like stuffing, and creates a visual display to track their progress toward their food drive goal. Teachers facilitate various activities, including discussions with the children about why providing food for others is important.
